Frequently Asked Questions
How much will it cost?
I know this is probably one of your biggest concerns. First of all, I offer an equitable pricing plan to everyone. No questions asked. I simply ask you to place yourself where you can realistically afford to be each month. And I always do my utmost to accommodate everyone's financial needs. However, because I tailor everything to meet the individual needs of each and every family I can't in all honesty give you an absolute cost until we've met, talked through how we might work together and I've put together a proposed plan for that.
If I contact you ...
You most likely want to know what happens once you hit send on the contact form? Once I receive it I will aim to call you within 2 working days. During this call we will briefly talk about what brought you to me and my services. Then, if appropriate & you feel comfortable with it, we will arrange to meet face-to-face for an adult-only meeting where we can talk about your concerns and your struggles. We would meet for about an hour. That meeting will be free-of-charge and you will not be obliged to take up any services if it does not feel like the right fit for you. If you do wish to go forward with the services offered I will write up a basic summary of what you have told me and I will suggest an initial programme, with the market rate cost of that. I will also provide you with my equitable pricing plan at this stage.
Is it confidential?
Yes. Everything I do is confidential. I will not share anything about you, your family or the support you receive unless you ask me to. Occasionally I might feel it'd be helpful to talk to other professionals involved with your child or family, such as school, but I would discuss that with you first. The only caveat that I must add here is that I do have a legal obligation to report any concerns about a child who I believe to be at risk of significant harm, just like any other person working with children. Again I would aim to discuss it with you first.
What if it's not working?
If at any point you feel like the therapy or support you are receiving is not helping and you want to end it or change what we are doing that is absolutely fine. You are not tied into anything. The only thing I would ask is that your child is allowed to have a suitable countdown to the end of their sessions, especially if they are enjoying attending their sessions. This is usually about 3-4 sessions for most children.
What have past clients said?
Occasionally past clients have independently chosen to send me their thoughts and updates after they have had support from me in some way. And some then gave me their permission to use appropriate quotes if I wished. A selection are included below (anonymously of course!)
However, please note that I do not ever ask clients to give me feedback about the service or their experiences at The Therapywise Foundation. This is intentional because often those who have reached out for support can feel vulnerable and having to give feedback can add to that feeling. I do not wish to add to anyone feeling uncomfortable.
