The Team

Who is the Team?
The team at The Therapywise Foundation is made up of myself (Jo, a professional therapist) and my dog assistant, Annie who helps out sometimes in sessions and loves to meet new children, young people and families.
Woof, I'm Annie.

I'm friendly, curious and gentle. I love to play, especially with children and young people and I love learning new things.

I also love to eat lots of treats. Once we get to know each other I will let you give me some well placed scratches too. But I'm definitely no lap dog. Long cuddles are just not my thing!

My human says that I am very good at telling people what I like. And what I don't! I have helped children gain confidence, work through their anxieties, get over their fear of animals and build relationships.
I am dedicated to helping children, young people and families navigate tough times. In order to do that I am trained in Play Therapy to Masters Level (with Distinction), am accredited by the British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT) and have completed further trainings in Filial Therapy, Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT), Online Play Therapy, parent support and various short courses .
I have been committed to helping and supporting children and young people for more than 20 years. I have experience of working with children who have been fostered or adopted as well as those struggling within their birth families. I also aim to work closely with you, as their parents and carers in whichever ways work best for you. Previous parents I have worked with have felt that this provided them with much needed support, co-regulation and connection which can so often be a missing part of difficult parenting journeys.
